The House of Blessing is an orphanage that is located in Det Udom, Ubon Ratchathani. I have visited them several times since 1998 in various locations. Now, they finally have their own house and land. It is so inspiring seeing how God has made this ministry grow from its very small beginning up to what it is now.
It's coordinator, Ou, is a long-time friend that I met way back in 1992 when I did my thesis in Nan province of North Thailand. A small but hard-working lady whose faith is so huge and contagious that it gave me courage to go to Eastern Samar and start a ministry among youths and students in 1998.
They have a many children now, but sadly there is no volunteer parents staying with them for a long time. Volunteers come for at least 3 months and go out again. I wonder how the children are coping with such a situation - people coming in and out of their lives for such a short time only.
Jenelith led the children in singing some English songs. Then we gave them some snacks and the cards made by the students at the B2b's School of Mission. They were very happy even though they could not read the English messages. We specially noticed one little boy, who was not actively participating in the group activity, became very lively and started chatting when he received his card.
